Our History

I started installing mobile electronics in 1974. 8 tracks, add on under dash FM radio, and CB Radios.
I opened River Oaks Car Stereo a small but thriving car audio shop in Houston in 1990.
We specialize in HIGH FIDELITY CAR AUDIO (not just boom).
Our tagline for decades has been, We can fix what the other places mess up!
We have sophisticated test equipment you will rarely find in other car audio shops.
We are experts in all aspects of mobile electronics, including custom and very custom work in Audio and security systems.

We sell and Install Car Stereo, Car Alarms, Radar Detectors, Amateur Radio, CB Radios, Police Scanners, GPS Navigation, do it yourself parts, kits and wires and much more.

I started this web site way way back in 1995! Originally we used the website for installers to share information worldwide, we also started the still widely used Installer Mailing List and the website evolved into the hard to find parts for installers. Eventually we started selling parts to anyone ( yes thats you), you no longer have to be a pro installer to buy from us, but please ask an installer what he thinks you need for your car before you order from us.
