TOMS FULL BEANS!

More proof that Tom is wrong

The above scans are from the book Acoustics by Leo Baranek pub 1954
Since I didn't have the book here at the office at the time Tom was attempting to use it as a reference Tom seemed to make fun of my ability to produce the book. He seemed to be implying that when I said I owned the book I was lying because I couldn't produce it...  Not all of my books are here at the shop, some books I keep at home.  Well now that I have it here at hand, lets use Toms own reference to prove him wrong...

This is a scan from page 29..
In the messages on RAC, Tom refers to this very picture...

Quote from Tom:
"I refer you to "Acoustics" by Leo Baranek pp 25-32 (great drawing of the tube)
and Chapter 10 for further study Eddie. Branch out and learn what standing
waves are. "

Well Tom, the picture of the tube IS a very nice one indeed... If you had paid any attention to the picture at all though I am sure you should have noticed the markings above the tube! The little squiggly line is the symbol for wavelength, and then there is a slash (that means divided by) and the 4... The symbol means 1/4 wavelength!  Notice at 1/4 wavelength there is a pattern of interference (a) and at 1/2 there is another (b)....  Now Tom, that's EXACTLY what I have been trying to tell you all along!!  Your own reference materials prove yourself incorrect and prove my point!

I guess you were so sure I didn't have this obscure reference book you decided to just make up whatever you wanted...
ha ha ha
Kinda like your Magazine articles!
ha ha ha

Here is another nice group of pictures from the same book....
Notice the interaction between the original wave and the reflected wave at 1/4 wavelength...
This supports my findings and my paper http://www.installer.com/tech/aiming.html

Tom, your simply wrong when you state that turning a subwoofer box around backwards in a car wont make any difference, most car audio buffs know from experience that it DOES make a great deal of difference!

YOUR WRONG TOM! Face the facts... I know you cant go back and recall the crappy tech article
you wrote for the car stereo magazine years ago, but you don't have to go on defending your mistakes!
Learn and maybe you wont make the same mistake next time someone asks you to fill a spot in the magazine.
