Frequency Spectrum

Most folks are familiar with their AM FM Radio and even though they might use the frequency, most folks don't really know where these frequencies are in the GIANT radio spectrum!

The radio spectrum we will be concerned with is basically from 0.5Mhz to 2000Mhz. There is a little below and some above this range but not stuff the average radio buff would listen to.

AM, normal AM broadcast band are on the low end of the radio spectrum, the low end of the HF (high frequency) band.  they run from 6 to 16Khz or 0.6 to 1.6Mhz.
FM, normal FM broadcast band is in the VHF (very high frequency) band. it runs from 88Mhz to 108Mhz.

Some of you may have a CB radio, the CB frequencies are in the top end of the HF band, CB usually uses AM (amplitude modulation) as a mode and the CB freqs run from 26.985Mhz to 27.405Mhz.

You can see these are TINY bands compared to the HUGE radio spectrum!

Over time, I will be putting more and more of the frequencies online here.
